B&Q, the UK’s leading DIY company, became involved with Exact Abacus via a mutual link with Suttons Seeds. B&Q wanted to launch a separate website, with Suttons, which would mirror the offline offering between the two, whereby B&Q act as the retailer for Suttons products.
The B&Q, Growing with Suttons, project was to provide B&Q with a website as a sub domain of their main www.diy.com website. Subsequently, the web design needed to carry through the key brand elements from the main B&Q website. The web design element was structured through the 3EX.NET white label eCommerce software. Having previously worked with Exact on a few other projects, Suttons were keen to use the white label eCommerce software that is built in to the 3ex.net system. The 3ex.net white label eCommerce software allowed for Suttons to manage all orders through the same system as their other sites, whilst also ensuring that all stock levels are kept up to date at all times.
With a comprehensive back office to support the new website, including order processing, stock control, warehouse management and customer relationship management, all of the business functionality was maintained on the same platform allowing for a more efficient business process.
