Stock Location Management
Knowing exactly where any item of your stock can be found within your warehouse is key to saving time, deskilling your warehouse team and reducing the cost of storing and dispatching your goods. Even if you don't have the requirement to label each individual location within your warehouse, knowing that a product is on a certain aisle or zone of your warehouse can speed up put away and dispatch processes immensely.
The 3ex.net Stock Control and Warehouse Management module allows you to optimise the use of space within your warehouse, using store and bin profiling and metrics. 3ex.net can record the stock availabilty of all of your SKU's at a location level, allowing the same items to be held in multiple locations within a store or, if you have a number of warehouses or shops, multiple locations within multiple stores. This ensures that your Warehouse team and your Purchasing team can know exactly where an item is currently located and even where it has been in the past.
Put Away / Stock Receipting
Perhaps the most difficult area of your warehouse, like most others, is that of Stock Receipting and Put Away. Ensuring your stock is put away correctly at point of receipt is crucial to stock accuracy, yet this can be particularly difficult, especially when dealing with items being received from overseas, where unders and overs are commonplace.
The Receipting Functionality of the Stock Control module will allow your stock to be quickly receipted, reconciled with the original purchase order and put away with minimum effort and maximum accuracy. If your items are barcoded, then the mobile 3ex.net application may help you to speed this process up even further.
Stock Replenishments
When dealing with larger stock holdings, it is often necessary to keep large reserves of stock in 'Bulk' or 'Overspill' areas of your warehouse. Where this is the case it can often be difficult to know what stock is needed to be moved from your overspill area to your picking face and when. The Stock Replenishment system within 3ex.net, will intelligently prompt you to move your stock as and when it is needed.
Alternatively, if you have number of different warehouses or perhaps shops, the replenishment system can be configured to automatically advise you which stock needs to be replenishished between which stores. You can even configure the Replenishment system to suggest stock be replenished depending on demand. This can be a particulalry useful way of preventing your pickers from trying pick stock from inaccessible locations. For example, if you have an order on the system and an item on the order is in stock, but is currently on a high pallet location, then the system can be configured to prevent the picking note being printed for the order. Instead, the system will suggest that the item or items are replenished to the Picking Face. Once all items on the order can be picked from accessible locations, the system will automatically release the order and print the picking note. Brilliant!
The Replenishment system also integrates with the Pocket 3EX.NET module to ensure stock accurarcy and replenishment completion.
Pick, Pack and Dispatch
No matter how complex your requirements for picking your orders may be, the 3ex.net Picking management system will handle it. If you want a simple picking note to be printed per order, this can be easily achieved. The picking note will print everything you need including stock locations and product components (for Set or Bill Of Material Products).
If you're picking process is considerable more demanding, then the 3ex.net picking managemenet system can be configured to suit your requirements. For example, you may wish to produce a batch picking note, or perhaps a series of batch picking notes breaking down your orders into Single Lines, Single Item, Next Day Delivery, Bulky Items etc. If you require it, 3ex.net will produce bulk picking notes in least walk sort order, it can offer slot / trolley picking and even integrate with the Pocket 3EX.NET module to increase efficiency and eradicate picking errors.
No matter how complex your picking requirements may be, they can be pre-configured in such a way that you just need to push a button. In fact you don't even have to do that, as production of picking notes can be automated so that picking notes / lists are waiting on the printer when your team arrive in the morning.
Mobile Warehouse Management
If your products are barcoded then you can take advantage of the the Pocket 3EX.NET module. If your products aren't barcoded, get them barcoded and take advantage of this module. This application will increase your stock accuracy and eradicate any picking errors. It can even eradicate paper alltogether. When used in conjunction with the Dispatch Confirmation system, items will not leave your warehouse until they have been scanned and confirmed at least three times; once at point of receipt, once whilst being picked and once whilst being packaged and dispatched. This level of validation increases your stock accuracy, thus minimising picking discrepancies and lowering customer returns, whilst at the same time improving the efficiency of your warehouse team.
