Endoscope-i Joins Forces with Exact Abacus

The latest innovation in clinical care comes from our client Endoscope-i who have developed the world’s first Endoscopic HD imaging system.

Originally developed back in 2012 as a simple and cost effective solution to endoscopic HD imaging, the endoscope-i is an economical, portable, robust and rapid solution for endoscopic imaging on the iPhone, and is almost invisible when connected to an endoscope and light source. Available with its own app that centres the image, prevents rotation, and allows you to take pictures while it is recording high definition video.

By 2013, endoscope-i was used to perform the first fibre-optic intubation using mobile technology. Since then anaesthetists have performed a number of these procedures, under special conditions, reporting excellent satisfaction.

Given its many applications, the world of medicine can benefit greatly across a number of specialities for both clinicians and patients. With 1080p imaging there are several specialities that currently benefit from using the endoscope including urologists, orthopaedic physicians and laparoscopic surgeons.

The superior lighting and optics allow for visualisation of ‘hard to reach’ areas within the human body. To date Endoscope-i has been involved in a number of projects globally to facilitate cost effective HD imaging and documentation in some of these surgical specialities.

Endoscope-i are already proud to supply their product to the ‘xtreme-everest’ team allowing them to obtain images for their investigation into the effect of high altitude on middle ear function.
